Myrle
Dean 1917 - 2006
Class of 1937
Submitted by his daughter, Peggy Dean
Hoffmeyer
Roll call for the class of 1937 graduates
from Adelphian Academy:
Myrle Dean
Six of the fifteen members of
that class are still alive; 9 are awaiting the
call of their Maker on the resurrection morning.
There
is one of that class that is dearest to me, Myrle
Dean, my Dad.
On Dec.
13, 2006, after only 4 hours of being in the hospital,
he passed away of a massive heart attack. He would have
been 90 years old June 10.
Myrle was a lifetime resident
of Holly having lived on the farm on Fish Lake
Road since he was only 8 years old. Myrle was active in the Holly
church throughout his lifetime having served in mnay offices for over
70 years. Visitation
was one of his special gifts. People had confidence
in Myrle and appreciated his visits. Often times the
family would call him in time of need and he would
be the first one to make a visit. He also enjoyed gardening
and would have a large garden, more than needed for the family. People
would find a bag of apples or garden produce on
the back step during harvest time. Gasoline engines and
restoring old John Deere tractors was a hobby of his also. Truly,
he was the patriarch of the Holly church and Adelphian Academy. He
will be missed as a husband, father and friend. He touched
many lives and was a friend to all.
